Hey beauties! I was recently given the opportunity to receive a Magical Mini Makeover at Sephora inside JCPenney, where the focus was creating a wearable and everyday makeup look using shimmery, holographic shades. I know it sounds like a beauty trend, but I promise you it is so easy to achieve and I will be sharing all the products used on my face to make it happen!
For starters, spring is all about magical makeup. It is all about holographic shades and a ton of sparkle! An important thing to note about this type of makeup look is that it’s appropriate for any age and skin tone. Another bonus? You can get your own free Magical Mini Makeover to see how you can achieve this trend on your skin at any Sephora inside JCPenney! 😉
For these Magical Mini Makeovers, there are 3 focuses you can try: Magic Eye, Magic Lips and Glow Magic (which is for the cheeks). For the sake of this post and me wanting to show you the 3 different options, we went with all 3 and I will go into detail for each portion so you can see what the ultimate goal for each look is, along with the products used!
Products Used (both by Urban Decay and exclusive and/or limited edition):
Disco Queen Holographic Highlighter Powder, Distortion Eyeshadow Palette (available in-store)
Make Up For Ever Star Lit Glitter Palette (new, exclusive and limited edition)
As you can see, the glitters are pigmented, while still being light enough to wear on an everyday basis. Remember, you have control over the intensity, so for a night out, you could go a bit heavier and use the exact same products. That’s what I loved most about the products my Sephora inside JCPenney Education Manager, Luís used on me!
For starters, it’s important to have a cleansed and hydrated face. We started with a thicker moisturizer for my dry skin, along with a hydrating primer for a good base before applying makeup.
When it comes to the Magic Eye look, glitter is only applied to the lids, not above the crease. As a result, we stuck with matte and natural tones to highlight the brow bone area.
You can either opt for a soft silver, or rose-gold glitter on the eyelids. No matter which option you choose, it will be both wearable and flattering on you!
If you go a bit colorful on the eyes, you can definitely go with a lighter iridescent tone on the lips. In the final photo of this post, you will be able to see a heavier version of the Magic Lips look. For this trend, your lips should have a holographic and iridescent finish with a juicy shine. The actual color is very sheer, making it wearable for everyday! After lining the lips with a color of our choice, we followed with the Too Faced Melted Latex Liquified High Shine Lipstick in Unicorn Tears.
Can’t forget about the lashes! This addition will help the eyes pop even further!
In the above photo, you can see a slight shimmer above my cheekbones for the Glow Magic look. For this look, we used the Urban Decay Disco Queen Holographic Highlighter Powder. It helped to provide a gorgeous, lit-from-within look, while shining like a diamond. It really adds a nice touch to the cheekbones and is so beautiful on the skin!
Here and below you can see a more dramatic lip. As I said before, the intensity is totally up to you. Intense is usually natural for me, but feel free to wear these looks in any way you’d like!
In case you haven’t guessed, this is my Sephora inside JCPenney Education Manager Luís and I. He did such a great job making everything work so well on my skin!
