*I was hosted at Epic Waters in exchange for media coverage. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
If there’s one thing I loved as a kid and still love now, it’s waterparks. There’s just something about the water and waterslides that I’ve always loved. When contacted by the Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark in North Texas (Grand Prairie), I was ecstatic. It not only allowed me to experience an indoor facility for the first time, but I was also able to go during the winter. We all know waterparks close during the colder months, which is understandable, but Epic Waters has tapped a major way into the market, allowing folks to enjoy the water all year long, including holidays!
Epic Waters was opened in January 2018, making it the newest indoor facility in Texas. In terms of size, it is the largest indoor waterpark in North America that has a retractable roof. I was told that during the warmer months, the roof is opened to allow one to enjoy the experience one would enjoy at an actual outdoor waterpark. Not to worry though! The temperature inside stays pretty realistic, meaning it can feel like summertime even if it’s really not since it’s climate controlled.
When you first arrive to the waterpark, you are given a wristband, which allows you to enter and exit the park as you please.
Epic Waters also happens to have the longest lazy river in Texas and high adrenaline watersides!
In case you’ve always wanted to learn how to surf without the dangers learning on the beach can be, Epic Waters offers an indoor surfing simulator, in which even a beginner like myself can learn. I’ll be honest here, I tried 1 time to stand up and kept sliding to the side. I’ll try this one another day when I have more patience, haha!
Another thing I loved about Epic Waters is how they cater to adults. Normally you would associate a waterpark as a kid-friendly environment, but extra care is given to adults as well, offering a convenient cafe and bar area in case you’d like a cocktail. I ordered a frozen margarita!
In case you get hungry throughout your day, you don’t have to leave the facility for food, as there’s a concession stand with food and non-alcoholic drinks available. Sadly there were limited options for me, since I’m vegetarian. I had to end up getting nachos without the meat. Other offerings include pizza, chicken and more!
You can also take a break from all the water by entering the Epic Waters Arcade. It offers plenty of options to try your luck at winning!
Epic Waters is also a part of EpicCentral Grand Prairie, which is home to The Epic. This is a 120,000 square foot fitness and entertainment destination for everyone. There are even art classes offered and teaching kitchen outfitted by IKEA, as well as an outdoor concert space. For The Epic and Epic Waters, there are seasonal and monthly memberships offered to ensure you get the best bang for your buck!
I had a really great experience at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark. It offers the perfect family-friendly environment all year long and you’re bound to have a fun time, no matter who you are. Best of all, you don’t have to wait until spring or summer to enjoy it. Be sure to check out more about Epic Waters here and you can also buy your tickets online at the link!

I love water parks! They definitely bring out the kid in me 🙂 seems like you had such a great time 🙂
Epic Waters looks sooo fun! It’s obviously kind of difficult to go swimming in an outdoor pool in the middle of the winter, so going to a water park is a great idea. Love your bathing suit too 🙂

I am a big fan of water parks, too! The retractable roof is amazing! We have a mall here in SLC that does that and it’s beautiful all year round.

Water parks are so fun!! I loved them as a kid but I think I love them even more now as a mom! Having a park that caters to adults too is so nice. We have one nearby that also does food and drinks making it a great spot to be all day!
