I am super excited about my new hair, as it is not only a different company, but also a different texture. As you probably guessed, it’s Malaysian! Typically, if not all the time, Malaysian hair is only found in bundles. Believe me, I have searched high and low for clip ins made out of this hair, but they are nonexistent. Perhaps my Google search skills have gotten have gotten rusty (which I doubt by the way…#professionallurkerstatus), so correct me if I’m wrong! Because of my lack of ability to be able to find these premade clip ins, I took a stab at making my own. Check out the video below for a tutorial on how I make mine 🙂
See the amazing results below after install!
My hair stylist just flat ironed my own hair super straight and curled it with the same flat iron super small. She then inserted the clip ins and fluffed my own hair with the clip ins. Above is a photo immediately following install. Below is a day after, after working out and sleeping in the hair.
As you can probably see, the hair gets bigger and bigger as the days pass. To minimize this, I just apply a small amount of Argan oil from top to the ends. Click here for the kind I use. I highly recommend it!
To sleep and while I’m working out, I braid my hair into sections really tight. I generally do 5-7, but keep in mind the more you do, the smaller and tighter the wave. Since I’m lazy, I mostly stick with just 5 and that works for me. After working out, I blow dry my hair about 10 minutes and it’s just like new when I take my braids out. Really convenient hair to wear if you’re active like me because it requires a lot less maintenance than straightening.
This Malaysian texture is honestly one of the best I’ve tried. Besides being naturally wavy, it blends really well with my ethnic hair. It’s full of volume and the actual hair is super soft. I am really excited to hopefully try Malaysian straight and Peruvian bundles next to make clip ins. I hope this review was helpful and it inspires you to look beyond premade clip ins. You may find the bundles I have here. By the way, I chose 2 bundles of 24″ and 1 bundle of 16″.
