I just recently got introduced to this company called We Are Onyx…well I actually got introduced by them asking me to be an Onyx Girl Ambassador. Naturally I screamed first then accepted lol. They are a subscription based company that sends you a box of high end makeup and beauty products for only $25 a month. Great deal if you ask me! This month, there was over $110 worth of makeup and a hair product. You would be a fool not to jump on this month’s box because the products are crazy pigmented. The blush in the box is valued at the price of the entire box. Say no more…it’s a steal to me! On to the goodies! 🙂
Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Baume
Straightening Baume:
I washed my hair and applied this product immediately after towel drying it. I let it air dry a bit and blowed the rest dry. I followed with my flat iron to get my hair bone straight. I experienced no frizz for almost a week afterwards. I was in 2 different climates during that time too: Louisiana and New York…no issues. My hair was shiny and had no weight. For reference, I did this 7 weeks post relaxer and my hair is very thick.

Lip Gloss:
The lip gloss honestly doesn’t give me that much color payoff because my lips are naturally pretty much the same color. The texture is semi-sticky, very creamy. Please note that in order for a long wear lip gloss to actually be long wear, it must have some sort of tackiness to it to last. The stickiness is nowhere near unbearable like I can find some other lip glosses to be (*cough* MAC lip glass *cough*).
As far as being “long wear,” I concur. However, it lasted long enough to satisfy me, approximately 4 hours before I reapplied. Generally, I redo my lip color anyway because I tend to get that white ring (gross I know, but y’all know what I’m talking about lol) in the inside of my top and bottom lip after wearing my lip product(s) for so long. Therefore, the wear time is not an issue for me.
Eye Shadow: The eye shadow is super creamy and pigmented. These are also much larger than your traditional MAC eye shadows. During application, I didn’t notice much fallout and I brushed it on. It didn’t require me to “pack on” as I do with most of my eye shadows. P.S. I have a tutorial coming up soon using this color 🙂
Blush:
Same as I stated for the eye shadow, insane pigmentation and creaminess. Blending is very easy too. Also, this color is perfect for all skin types.
If you’re pale, use a really fluffy or fan brush for application (e.g. MAC #129 Brush/e.l.f. Blush Brush with a light hand or e.l.f. Fan Brush).
If you’re really dark, you may want more color, so use a more dense brush and build, build, build (e.g. MAC #116 Brush/e.l.f. Blush Brush).
If you’re in between, just use whatever with a light hand and build.
Please don’t load your brush with a lot of product because a little goes a long way, trust me.

Mascara:
I love the design of the brush, how it gets smaller at the end and how the brush tip curves down. Whenever I apply mascara on clients, I always bend my brush because it makes application so much easier, without messing up my hard eye shadow work. This brush already has that feature, so it’s way easier getting to my inner and outer corners of my eyelashes.
As far as making “Texas-sized” lashes, I’m sold.
The mascara is definitely black; I noticed a difference in the color of my lashes for sure.
I noticed a clear difference in length and thickness for my lashes.
The volume of my lashes definitely improved.
Overall, really great value for all of the products in this box. The hair stuff is great for controlling and limiting frizz. The blush and eye shadow are both showstoppers. The lip gloss is great for a glossiness for a not so lengthy period of time. The mascara is great for length, thickness, darkness and volume. You can purchase this month’s box here.
