I said I wasn’t going to bring any attention to this on my fashion blog because I like to stay pretty neutral on here when it comes to current events, but it’s time. All I’m going to say is…please keep my city of Baton Rouge in your prayers. Matter of fact, keep our world in your prayers. Too much is going on.
Too much race baiting…too much police brutality. Regardless of what it is, there is no excuse for murder of any kind. It’s heart wrenching. One of the police officers killed was a very close family member to one of my relatives. I am sickened to my stomach and honestly can’t bring myself to even understand why any of this is even happening. Just pray for all of us. Pray for your neighbor, pray for each other. There’s no such thing as too much prayer.
These 2 blues look awfully similar, though they weren’t to begin with. Not blaming my mom totally, but she washed my skirt while we were on vacation and both of us failed to read the instructions where it clearly stated to wash inside-out…oops. That’s why my skirt lightened :/ I’m actually considering ordering another since I love it so much. If you remember seeing this skirt in this outfit post, you’ll see what a beautiful, vivid indigo it was before. I may just go the cheap way and buy some fabric dye to get it back to it’s natural state. What would you do if you were me? I want the old color back! LOL so please leave your suggestions below!

Thank you so much Carolina!
That blue looks so stunning on you! By far my favorite color and I don’t even come close to pulling it off as well as you do. I’m so sorry about all the injustices happening in your town (and around the world). The world’s a mess and all we can do as individuals is continue to be kind to each other and lead by example.

Love this blue with blue! Would probably order a new one, perhaps because dying fabrics is so sensitive, but if you feel confident, go ahead!! It’s such a pretty color indeed! Xx

Thank you so much Amy Ann!
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your community, my friend. I don’t know what’s going on with our world. All I can say is that it seems that people are getting more and more tired of the everyday life and aren’t rationalizing anymore. There is so much inequality and injustice and not just pertaining to race, in nearly every other form of life. We need prayer. A lot of prayer and mercy. Never in all of my life have I turned on the t.v. and seen the amount of violence, hatred, and just down right evil, as I have within recent years.
On a different note, I love the outfit and I think the two pieces matching create the illusion of a lovely dress! I love the knotted shirts you wear, I think I need to get some myself because you get that relaxed, knotted look without worrying about it coming un-done. You look gorgeous as always, girlie! Thank so much for sharing and again, I will keep you in prayers.
XO,
Jalisa

OK, so blue is totally your color! Love how you tied the top too. And on a serious note, I just totally agree with you on all that you said. The world just needs more love, not hate. Have a great week my friend XO

It is rather sad and appalling what’s going on in America. I pray and hope everything calms down soon. Violet surely isn’t the answer to this and I hope people understand that soon.
You look so radiantly beautiful. The photography is amazing. π
