CLOSET TOUR | California Closets x The Beauty Beau

So this is probably the most exciting post I’ve had around here in a while, if ever! As if you can’t tell from the title, I am finally revealing my new closet! This is something I’ve wanted to customize since forever, but couldn’t due to living in apartment homes. Keshaun will tell you just an hour after we closed on our home, I went and applied for credit at California Closets (more details on that later)! 🤣 I, along with my designer, Patrick Hausske, were able to come up with the perfect schematics to suit my needs and wants!

THE PROCESS

So I basically turned one of our spare bedrooms into my closet, and used the closet within the room as my shoe closet. California Closets actually removed the preexisting shelving in the closet to start off with a fresh slate to install everything!

When dreaming up the design of my future closet, I always knew I wanted a special place to display my designer bags. Patrick had the genius idea to install lighting to properly showcase them! It’s perfect because they’re all in one place. 😁

I also knew I needed LOTS of clothing racks to separate everything I had into categories, also allowing additional room to add more if needed. The open space makes my outfits so much easier to sort through and put together! It’s such a breath of fresh air from my previous walk-in closet.

I also had Patrick design a cabinet to put in my bathroom to store skincare and haircare products. Being a blogger, there isn’t a shortage of either of these and I’m one that likes to try as much as I can to see what works best! Having a cabinet (installed with glass doors you’ll see below) makes it so much easier to know exactly what I have and also grab product easily!

THE FINAL OUTCOME!

I also love how my designer area is right above my workspace. It not only gives me more light above, but while I’m at my desk, I’m not also drowned in clothing around me.

For the closet itself, Patrick made sure to use every single inch of the space, per my request. He came up with the genius idea to install these hooks above the window. Normally this space would go to waste, but not in this closet!

As far as organization, I have everything sorted into categories (e.g. denim, skirts, button downs, 2 piece sets, jumpsuits, dresses, etc) and also by color. It makes things so much easier to find!

Being a Capricorn, I also like my space and peace and quiet from time to time (well let’s be honest, MOST of the time). I wanted to leave the center of the room open for a chaise lounge and cozy rug, since I’m a country girl who likes to walk around the house barefoot. 😆 If you haven’t noticed already, I utilized hints of gold, green, white and blue around the room!

I got these lingerie drawers installed by California Closets to hold my leggings, bike shorts, tights and bralettes.

Where to next?! Well my custom travel map makes that easy for me to figure out and also remember where I’ve already been!

My previous organization of my jewelry was not working lol. I wanted an island, except not in the middle of floor, being in the way of me filming videos. It was instead installed against the wall, leaving room to walk and also using that space under the light switch. This island can be customized to your liking! We chose to make 4 drawers for jewelry, watches and sunglasses, leaving the bottom for extra storage. This is where I stash all my extra hangers so they’re not taking up space on the racks!

Each drawer has clear dividers, which you can easily change the size of by removing the rows. You can also stack multiple trays and still have room to open and close each drawer. How you organize these is totally up to you. Super convenient! 💚

These “necklace holders” are actually tie racks that California Closets offers. They work beautifully to organize any chain size. I believe I have 6 total in the closet. I love them because it keeps all my necklaces separated, preventing annoying tangling!

Behind my mirror is where I keep all my bulky and neck scarves. They have these pull out rows with loops to keep them organized. Such a smart idea Patrick had to use the space behind the mirror and also keep these winter items hidden!

In my closet there’s also an ironing station that folds neatly and hides behind the door. It’s perfect because it’s not sitting out in the way all the time and also convenient with it already being in my closet!

We installed more of those hooks in my shoe closet to fit bags that were too big to fit elsewhere. I still have tons of room!

For the cabinet in my bathroom, the same materials and hardware was used to coordinate with my closet, the color being Tuscan Moon.

I am highly grateful to Patrick and my installers at California Closets for making my dreams come true with this space. I finally feel like I can breathe and hoard all my clothes, while having them organized! 😆 In all seriousness though, I do donate periodically, even though it may appear that way. As I mentioned earlier, I financed a huge portion of my closet through GreenSky, which is the program that California Closets offers. I have to say though, make sure you do your research before signing up for this. With this, you only get your interest back if you pay off your entire balance before the promotional period. It is not free interest. There is a difference. I made the mistake of thinking this and it has forced me to pay off my balance much sooner than I would have liked. As long you understand this concept, you will be fine!
