If you can remember, my hair has been purple for quite some time, but knowing me, you also know I don’t like to stick to the same hair color over an extended period of time. I am a creative at heart, so I also like to be creative with my hair color. With that in mind, I also like to color my hair in the healthiest, less damaging way as possible, while not spending too much money to get it done. I found that Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture from Target is not only affordable but super easy to do yourself and in the comfort of your home! 😁
To achieve my desired hair color, I used the Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture in the Honey Blonde shade. Now, to be quite frank with you, I was pretty skeptical of this working in my hair, with it being so dark and also the fact it could possibly damage my hair. What I love about the Color & Moisture line from Keratin Color is that it left my hair feeling nourished, even after drying! I was left with super vibrant hair, which y’all should know by now is totally my thing! This product is also designed to work for women of color, meaning that it’s perfect for dark and all textures and skin tones. Today, I am going to share with you just how easy it is to color your own hair and achieve the desired look!
You first want to start with dry hair that is thoroughly detangled. Make sure to follow the included directions based on the look you’re going for. There are separate instructions for coloring a full head of hair and extensions. For the sake of this post and tutorial, I colored my full head!
You want to start by protecting your ends with the provided Pre-Color Serum in the package. This will help ensure your hair stays strong and healthy. It conditions your hair prior to coloring for a more even color result from root to tip!
You want to continue with mixing your lightening powder and color creme with your developer lotion. Mix well before applying to your hair. From past experience, I knew 1 box wouldn’t be sufficient for my thicker hair, so I ended up using 3 boxes to cover my entire head. It’s always best to buy more than 1, so you don’t end up stranded with only half of your head processing with the color! It’s also not a bad idea to stock up on extras with the Target deal I’m sharing with you near the end of this post. 😎
I separated my hair into sections before applying the Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture. This made it a lot easier and quicker to saturate my entire head. Make sure you follow the instructions for processing time. I processed mine for 45 mins for maximum color and pigmentation for a better effect!
Once that’s done, shampoo your hair a few times thoroughly, following with the conditioner provided in the package. Once done, style as you’d like!
The Color & Moisture line from Keratin Color has professional quality formulas that are salon tested & approved. It’s a line that provides nourishment, moisture, vibrant color results, as well as hair damage protection.
Also, when you buy 4 Schwarzkopf® products, you can get a $5 Target gift card from 5/26 – 6/8 or while supplies last. Coloring my hair at home was really therapeutic for me and a lot of fun! Not to mention, it saved me a lot of money and money instead of going to a salon!
