Good evening! I have another Gorgeous Cosmetics review for you and you shouldn’t expect anything less according to the Gorgeous Cosmetics Ever Matte palette review I did a few weeks back. This particular review is on the Gorgeous Cosmetics Romance Smokey Eyes Palette. So many of my subscribers were disappointed about missing out on the MAC Spiced Chocolate quad from a few years ago. Well my loves, I have great news for you. This palette is a great replica plus so much more!
Let’s break down the packaging. First of all, all of the eye shadows are larger than your typical MAC eye shadow.
Also, the packaging/case is super durable. This is not your average palette where the plastic is all flimsy and can crack when you give it the slightest tap with a needle. It’s sturdy, has a mirror at the top and a slot for an eye shadow brush, making it 100% travel friendly. Speaking of travel friendly, you have all the colors you need to go from a daytime to nighttime look, even a highlight color that’s appropriate for a variety of skin complexions.
Another plus about the packaging is that all the shade names are printed on the back of the palette…so convenient! Here are the beautiful colors in the palette! Also, keep in mind that the color descriptions are based on how the colors appear on my skin.
Charity – a light pink beige with a semi-metallic finish
This color would actually work as an all-over lid color for a more neutral look, or as a brow/tear duct highlighter. It isn’t too severe…just the right amount of color.
Dusk Rose – a medium rose pink with a slight sheen
The name of this color is definitely appropriate. It makes the perfect transition color or even a subtle blush. Think outside of the box!
Violet Satin – a metallic pink plum
This color is the best out of the 4, in my opinion. It can work as a neutral or loaded on for more drama. This would make a beautiful shade with color for brides as it isn’t such a scary color. This color is what made me think of the MAC Spiced Chocolate palette.
Fudge – (My future last name…haha) gorgeous, warm, rich, matte chocolate brown
Yes, all the adjectives are necessary. This color has it all, pigmentation, warmth, richness, heck existence. A definite necessity for this palette. Use it as all over lid color for more drama or on the outer V as I have. It may even work on brows, but I believe it would be a bit too warm brown for my liking. I typically roll with cooler browns for mine.
So yeah, great stuff. It definitely supported my undying love (ok maybe that’s stretching) for Gorgeous Cosmetics. Look no further for a convenient, high quality and travel-friendly palette!
