Milani Color Statement Lipstick Reviews and Comparisons (Oranges & Reds)

Finally getting around to posting the Oranges and Reds from the Milani Color Statement Lipstick line. I hope you enjoy my review. I also have the other 2 sets, which I will review as well.

Color Statement Lipsticks

Milani’s Description – Make a statement without saying a word!  True Instant Color. One stroke, full coverage application. This next generation lipstick gives the ultimate in color, texture and finish.  The lightweight creamy formula contains Vitamins A, C, & E to moisturize and nourish lips. Paraben free. Available in Vinyl, Metallic, Cream, Shimmer, Pearl & Matte finish.
Candace’s Description – These lipsticks are super creamy and moisturizing, as Milani states. It helps to prime the lips before as they have a tendency to slip into the lines of the lips. I have also noticed that the texture tends to ball up if your lips are not pre-exfoliated. Before application, make sure all the dead skin is scrubbed off beforehand (you can use sugar on a wet toothbrush or moisturize with something like Carmex before bed). The lipsticks are pretty longwearing as far as the actual color goes. The pigmentation that shows up when you first apply the color goes away throughout the day, or even quicker if you eat or share a kiss lol. The actual color still stains your lips after it rubs off, which is pretty nice, in my opinion. As with all lip products, from my experience, it leaves a white ring on the inside of the lips as time passes. I just remove it with a napkin or tissue, so it isn’t a deal breaker for me.

Colors from left to right (flash):
#1 – Sweet Nectar, #3 – Orange-Gina, #4 – High Voltage, #5 – Red Label, #6 – Cherry Crave, #7 – Best Red, #8 – Ruby Valentine
Colors from left to right (flash):

#1 – Sweet Nectar: This color is beautiful. Perhaps I’m biased because orange is my favorite lipstick shade to wear 😉 This shade is a dupe for MAC Electro Lipstick. MAC Neon Orange Lipstick is more red and MAC Morange Lipstick is slightly lighter.

#3 – Orange-Gina: I’m not too keen on frosty lipsticks, but this is not really much different. It is a little drying on the lips as well. The frost is a tad too much for me, but not unbearable. It can be toned down with care. This color is a dupe for MAC CB 96 Lipstick. I don’t own MAC Meltdown Lipstick, but from my memory, it’s exactly like MAC CB 96 Lipstick. You do the math.

#4 – High Voltage: This red would be pretty on any skintone, in my opinion. It’s the perfectly balanced red. MAC Russian Red Lipstick is more matte and blue based, while MAC Red Lipstick is a darker blue based shade.

#5 – Red Label: This is a different red, different from any reds in my lipstick collection. This too would suit any skin tone.

#6 – Cherry Crave: This is a metallic red. Again, I own nothing like this in my collection. I find this lipstick drying on the lips, as I did with Orange-Gina.

#7 – Best Red: This color is very much like Red Label except this one is more matte. This color is very similar to MAC Russian Red Lipstick.

#8 – Ruby Valentine: Again, this color looks just like Red Label, except it has a vinyl texture instead of cream.

Overall, these are some great lipsticks. However, you can escape by just buying at the most 2 of the red colors. They all pretty much look the same to me. These lipsticks can be purchased at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Rite Aid, K-Mart or any other local drugstore. More reviews to come in the future!
