Milani Cosmetics Brow & Eye Highlighter, Brow Gel & Brow Wax Review

Hey everyone!

As promised, I am doing an official review of the new Milani eye brow products. I am featuring the highlighters, wax and gel. I have also done an eye brow tutorial using some of these as well. You can view that later on in this post!
P.S. I am currently posting this from my hotel room in NYC and I’m heading out now. I hope to see some of you around! Tweet me at @kandiekanee for my location 🙂

Here is what Milani has to say about the brow highlighter duo pencils:
This perfect duo brightens, highlights, and lifts/shapes brows. Each pencil has two sides; the matte side is a creamy, non-creasing formula, and the pearl side is a cream-to-powder formula with light diffusing pigments. It is suitable for all skin tones. Sharpens with Milani’s Duo Sharpener.
These are pretty awesome. The texture is very creamy; however, if you have drier skin around your eyes like I do, I recommend using an eye cream to moisturize the area first before attempting to apply any type of product. The good news is that there are 3 different shades, so there’s a color for pretty much everyone. The one at the top has more of a yellow undertone, the one in the middle is more pink and the third one is more neutral.

The lightest & matte color in each duo can be used to highlight underneath the brow and as an eyeshadow base according to Milani. They work awesome as a brow highlight, but I personally have not tried them as a base. My guess is to stay away if your eyelids are oily especially since these are super creamy. The shimmery color in each duo could also be used as a brow highlight, but it’s too frosty for that purpose for me. It would work well as a tear duct highlight color. The darkest color (Natural Taupe) actually works pretty well as a brow color, though it moves a little too easily. I prefer more “semi-permanent” type of brow products, such as gel liners. I’m sure it will work well as an eyeshadow base too. See video below.
Here’s what Milani has to say about the Brow Shaping Clear Wax and the Brow Shaping Clear Gel:

Brow Shaping Clear Wax
A transparent gel-like formula to tame unruly brows. Mattefinish for a natural look. Medium to strong hold. Sharpens with Milani’s DuoSharpener.

I actually used this in my eyebrow tutorial. I love the semi-shiny finish it gives my brows. It also helps to hold them into place, especially since I like that “combed-up” brow look at the beginning of my brows.

Brow Shaping Clear Gel
A clear brow gel that shapes and tames brow hairs for fuller looking, well groomed brows. Bristle brush manages strays hairs and combs browsing place. Light to medium hold.

Conveniently, I began using this product after I had already done a review video on the other brow products lol. I actually like this a little better than the wax. It gives my brows a silky texture, making it seem like my eyebrows got a relaxer 😉 It holds them in place too and helps them look like real hair when I add product to them.

Milani really did it with these products, in my opinion. The drugstore makeup industry was really missing some key items in their lineup and these items help bridge the gaps. I would highly recommend these products to those on a budget or if you want really great eyebrow products!

*I was not compensated. Milani provided these products for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
