Since you’ve been following me, you probably know me as the blogger who always goes for the most effortless hairstyles. The simple reason for that is that I’m not a hairstylist, nor do I wish to be. I have always been a firm believer in creating different and attainable versatile looks at home for less. This time, I am bringing you a very simple Halloween hair pictorial using three Dove hair care products available at CVS!
Before crafting your hairstyle, you first want to make sure your hair is well cleansed and hydrated to prevent it from getting damaged. For this purpose, I picked two selections from the Dove Nutritive Solutions line, the Intensive Repair Shampoo and Intensive Repair Conditioner. Since I’m using tight rubber bands for this pictorial, these are musts to prevent any unwanted damage. Here are some other benefits of the shampoo and conditioner:
Dove Nutritive Solutions Intensive Repair Shampoo
Dove Nutritive Solutions Intensive Repair Conditioner
Before we begin, we will start with thoroughly washed and conditioned hair!
Towel dry your hair to remove any excess moisture, following up with your favorite leave-in conditioner, hair oil and gel. The next step is to part your hair down the middle, stopping shy of the center of your head like this!
You then want to connect the stopping point of the part to the front of where your ear begins with another part, on both sides. You will end up with 2 similar sections at the front, and a larger section at the back (which we will tackle later). Separate the front sections with clips and secure the back with an elastic for the time being!
Start by grabbing one of the front sections, brushing it into a tight grip. You then want to take 2 small rubber bands, use any color you’d like, securing into a mini ponytail! You want this to be rather tight, but not too tight to where it’s pulling your hair from your scalp. Use your own judgment for this step!
You then want to twist your ponytail from top to bottom, holding the end of the twist once done, then wrap it all the way around itself, securing with another elastic at the base. Follow the same steps with the other section at the front of your hair!
I then take the tiniest bit of Dove Refresh + Care Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo to lift my roots. It not only gives me a bigger fro, but it also removes any excess moisture from my hair that may have missed being towel-dried. Don’t overdo this step if you have natural hair because you don’t want it to dry out too much!
Once done, either fluff with your fingers, a rattail comb, or even blow dry and curl for more of a curl pattern. For me, bigger hair is better and it works perfectly for any Halloween headband, such as the reindeer one I’m wearing below! 😊
Dove hair care gives me a boost of confidence knowing that I’m not only rocking a chic hairstyle, but my hair is also being nourished while doing so.
