One of the most important things to me about Halloween hair and makeup has always been attainability. While I may have the luxury to go out and get both of these done, it is more often convenient to do it myself, especially in light of recent events this year to limit contact. Thankfully I was able to find everything I needed at Walmart to create the perfect Halloween look (hair and makeup) at a great price. After all, Walmart is known for this, every single day! 😁
Whether you’re celebrating at home or with your closest loved ones, you can get inspired for your Halloween Beauty look at Walmart. To help you do just that, I’ve created a simple and easy to recreate alien inspired look. It takes only a few steps, for hair and makeup. For this first portion, let’s focus on the hair.
I started with freshly washed and almost fully dried hair. I then continued with my usual “LOC” method (leave-in, oil, and cream), using multiple hair products from Walmart’s Curl Shop. Y’all, they have so many high end haircare products to choose from and the prices are amazing! I honestly wouldn’t expect anything less from Walmart. 🥰 For my look this time, I went with the Camille Rose Naturals Honey Leave-In Treatment, the Carol’s Daughter Goddess Strength 7 Oil Blend Scalp & Hair Oil w/ Castor Oil, and lastly, the Oscar Blandi Curve Curl Perfecting Creme.
Out of the bunch, my favorite has to be the Camille Rose leave-in conditioner. I’ll be honest, I expected the pleasant scent of honey (which is has), but I also expected my hands to be super sticky afterwards…did not happen! I’m not sure what formula they used to balance this product out, while also keeping the actual product hydrating and conditioning on the hair, but I love it. Also great to know I can head right to Walmart whenever I need a refill!
I parted my hair into sections at the front to create bantu knots and pinned by hair at the back into a mohawk. If you’re curious on exactly how I did this, I’ve have a quick Instagram video showing my hair and makeup later today (get excited!).
Okay this may be my most favorite hair part, I mean obviously because I love coloring my hair. I used the L’Oreal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup Temporary 1-Day Hair Color Spray in Pastel Mint to achieve this color. What do I love most? It’s foolproof and so easy to do yourself. No need to spend and arm and a leg at the hair salon. There are several colors available and if you’re in the corporate world, it washes right on out whenever you’re ready!
As for my actual makeup, I used an assortment of products, not too many; don’t worry. I started using the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (my holy grail for any white base) all over my face. In case you didn’t know, white underneath anything makes whatever color you place on top pop. It was the perfect base for my bright green eyeshadow from my NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Brights Palette. Don’t forget to blend it out first before setting it with powder! That’s very important to prevent creasing. I then used my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black to sketch out my eyes and other black details on the face. It’s literally the best because the tip is super precise for the most immaculate details. You can use eyeliner to fill in all the lines, or use a black face paint (I have one linked below in the widget). For my top lip, I actually used another NYX Jumbo Pencil in a different shade, Black Bean. So many products from Walmart are versatile. Why do your Halloween Beauty look anywhere else?!
For years, I have loved shopping at Walmart for practically anything I could think of and I was over the moon when my mom deemed it old enough to start wearing makeup. Walmart was the first place I purchased my first palette. It’s so exciting seeing them as a brand embrace Halloween Beauty now as well, with all their diverse offerings in not only makeup, but natural hair products as well. I am very impressed with what I picked up!
