It’s been a while since I posted a recipe on here and I figured, what better time than now to share something quick and easy? Besides if you’re anything like me, you don’t like spending a ton of time in the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I love to cook, but with limited time on my hands these days, I have much better ways and places to spend it. When I heard that Gorton’s had multiple varieties of frozen breaded shrimp that only takes minutes to prepare, I was over the moon to try out a new appetizer and share it with y’all! 😁
If you couldn’t already tell, I found my Gorton’s Popcorn Shrimp at my local H-E-B. In case this variety of shrimp isn’t your jam, they also offer Beer-Battered Shrimp and Butterfly Shrimp. For the purpose of this recipe, I opted for the popcorn version because I like the ability to just “pop” them into my mouth and eat them. It’s all about preference!
Gorton’s shrimp is a freezer staple and its freshness is preserved for whenever you need them, including the holidays. It truly helps to relieve a lot of the pressure of cooking. I also love the fact that they are customizable and pair well with any flavors. Since I was preparing a small appetizer for myself this time, I baked some and twist tied the rest for later. I love that! They are also easy to add into your meal prep routine!
Within minutes of following the on-box instructions, my Gorton’s shrimp are ready to plate and enjoy! I garnished mine with hot sauce and parsley, both of which I picked up at H-E-B. I also picked up green onions, but decided to save those for next time. Y’all know this Louisiana girl is all about flavor! 🥰
Literally all I did was drizzle the top of the cooked shrimp with the hot sauce and a large pinch of parsley. The shrimp isn’t prepared spicy in the frozen package, but again you have the ability to customize it how you like. Another idea is to drizzle it with an aioli dip for less spice. The possibilities are truly endless and it’s easy peasy!
After those short 3 steps, we’re all done! 😁
Another thing I love about Gorton’s shrimp is that it’s a great source of protein, it’s rich in vitamins and minerals, it’s non-GMO, and great for boosting immunity. I am all about wellness and with no meat in my diet, I need all the extra protein I can get. It’s also very fresh and takes so little time to cook. Although I baked mine, you could also deep fry it! It’s a great way to add more seafood into your diet. Although I am mostly vegetarian, I do enjoy seafood from time to time. I mean, I have to being from the swamp and all, haha!
With Gorton’s, holiday cooking is as easy as 1-2-3, and it took only 3 steps to make my quick dish! Gorton’s is available at H-E-B and you can find your nearest location here. What would you pair with Gorton’s shrimp?!

I love that this shrimp is so easily customized. You’re making me crave shrimp now! I am all about the concept of adding hot sauce. Speaking my language right there!
