*I was hosted at YOTEL New York in exchange for media coverage. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
When it comes to attending NYFW, one of the most annoying things ever to do is find a hotel room. They tend to be way overpriced, especially during Fashion Week and they book up super fast. When I went last February, I knew I wanted a place that wasn’t too far from the shows, was in close proximity to the hot spots and wasn’t expensive. I mean, NYFW is expensive enough as it is if you aren’t being sponsored to attend, which I haven’t been. YOTEL New York is the perfect choice for accommodations during Fashion Week and any other time, as it’s cozy, high tech and super convenient!
Now y’all know I am when it comes to my time and how it’s managed. In other words, there is nothing I hate more than wasting time. It’s too precious! I can’t tell you how many times I have waited endlessly in long lines when I could be doing something else a lot more productive. Well upon walking through the front doors, YOTEL NYC has kiosks to check in, swipe your card for incidentals or paying and to also dispense keys. This process goes much more smoothly than being asked a ton of questions and having to wait behind others in line to check in. Within minutes, my key was provided and I headed straight to the elevator to head to my room!
To be quite honest, the room is very small, but that’s not unusual for a hotel in Manhattan. It’s definitely comparable to a few other hotels I’ve stayed in the area. Though it’s small, it’s super cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable. That was quite refreshing having walked in heels for parties and events. I also appreciated the lightning-fast Wifi, which allowed me to stay on task with deadlines and assignments I had to submit in time. Here are some other nice amenities YOTEL New York has to offer:
The property also has these charging stations, where you can charge any mobile device. My phone definitely tends to die at least 3 times during Fashion Week, so this was super handy!
You may be thinking I’m at a museum, but nope! This gadget here, called YOBOT, is the hotel’s luggage concierge that stores your luggage away for safekeeping with a simple PIN number and last name. It prints a receipt for pickup later! It’s the first of its kind in the world and fascinates everyone who comes in contact with it, including me! 😂
I love how YOTEL gives you just what you need and nothing extra. Sometimes minimalism is important so you’re not overwhelmed while on vacation and it’s really the perfect choice with all the amenities you may not have thought to appreciate elsewhere. YOTEL has locations in New York, Boston, Singapore and San Francisco, so I’d definitely consider them if you’re planning trip to one of those cities as well. Click here to book your stay!
